I continue to be surprised by the shapes and patterns seen in nature and marvel at how different wildlife can be, each with characteristics tailored to suit their habitat. I like to add in the eyes quite early before I start layering on the colours to create texture and depth.

Pet Portrait Collection

I have always had a pet. To me they are the extension of our family. We currently have Barry the dog an unknown breed with a loving nature and two newly introduced pet rats Rick and Rufus. I love the way pets communicate with their owners, that momentary look where you know what they want, whether it is food, some fuss or may be a walk. In the pet portrait commissions I try to capture a bit of their character.
